Pomegranate Walnut Boulevardier
A deep holiday-season Boulevardier with pomegranate, walnut bitters, vermouth, and whiskey.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz bourbon or rye
- 3/4 oz sweet vermouth
- 3/4 oz Italian bitter aperitivo
- 1/4 oz pomegranate syrup
- 2 dashes walnut bitters
- Orange peel, for garnish
Method
- Add whiskey, vermouth, bitter aperitivo, pomegranate syrup, and walnut bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until chilled.
- Strain over one large cube in a rocks glass.
- Express orange peel over the drink and garnish.
Whiskey Scene Notes
Rye will make this drink sharper and more bitter, while bourbon will round out the pomegranate. Both work well, depending on the mood of the menu.
