Fig & Brown Sugar Whiskey Sour

The Fig & Brown Sugar Whiskey Sour takes a familiar sour format and gives it a deeper seasonal center. Fig syrup adds dark fruit, brown sugar gives it a molasses-like warmth, and lemon keeps the drink lifted. It is a richer sour, but not a heavy one, which makes it especially useful for fall and winter cocktail menus.

Whiskey Scene Notes

Rye gives this drink a drier, more structured finish, while bourbon makes it rounder and more dessert-like. If using a very sweet fig syrup, skip the extra simple syrup.
