Speyside and Islay
Speyside offers density and comparison, with malt, fruit, honey, spice, sherry influence, and house style close together. Islay carries a reputation for peat, smoke, brine, and maritime character, but its whiskies can also show citrus, sweetness, chocolate, fruit, and elegance.
Other Regions
The Highlands are broad and varied. The Lowlands can pair with Edinburgh or Glasgow. Campbeltown is small but deeply significant, with a sense of pilgrimage for many Scotch drinkers.
